Paresthesia is a stop-motion animation exploring the trans body as an ever-changing landscape. Each frame is a gelatin plate image transfer, rubbed, peeled, and layered in a process that resists resolution. Sometimes masculine, sometimes feminine, and sometimes neither, the body becomes a medium in flux that rejects a gendered reading.
Emphasising close-ups of the body, the film evokes a tactile, temporality where past, present, and future overlap. The soundtrack is produced through databending, translating the digital code of the body’s images into sampled audio. Like a limb waking from sleep, Paresthesia lingers at the threshold between sensation and form.
